To anyone planning to buy a watch from Amazon (and the Swiss Time Limited dealer), I feel compelled to share my experience.
When I received it, there was no receipt, no packing slip, no contact information, no nothing in the package. The watch was wrapped up in about 14 FedEx package bags. Not exactly the professional and high-end experience I expected when buying a luxury timepiece.
Then, we took it to an Authorized Tag Heuer dealer to have a link removed. As we entered the store, we noticed a sign indicating that Tag Heuer does not sell watches online and that a watch ordered online likely is a ‘gray market’ watch. Of course, I panicked. I then read the return policies for Swiss Time Limited — which gives you 30 days to return an item. However, “For items returned within the first 15 days of delivery date you will receive a full refund minus shipping fees and a 10% restocking fee. For items returned within 15-30 days of delivery date you will receive a full refund minus shipping fees and a 20% restocking fee.” If you’ve purchased a $2,000 watch, this fee can be up to $400.
