engagement/promise ring help?!?

ok, so i want to give my girl friend my moms ring she gave to me, it was hers when she was my age. it had a gold band, a pink topaz heart, and a smaller diamond heart to the left. would this be an appropriate engagement/promise ring? our 3 year anniversary

Well, there's no such thing as an "engagement/promise" ring. They are two totally different things with different meanings. A promise ring is something you give a girl that tells her you "promise" to get engaged when you're ready.

Is this wrong for me to do?

My ex boyfriend cheated on me and I want to get rid of all his stuff he gave to me, so i decided to sell some of it to milk it for all its worth.
